Gratitude List #1

Monday, 1 June 2015
I take a deep breath . . .
and
I remember Your loving kindness to me.
Each word I expend,
is not typed mindlessly,
as if it costs me nothing to give. . .

For I have drunk in full
the cup of sorrow,
and experienced
the deep shadow of loss,
the echo of emptiness,
these have constantly haunted me. . .

So as I offer you my gratitude,
let it be healing to my heart,
and to others, who have felt the heavy hand of life.
Selah . . .

  • I am grateful for the warm bed I woke up to this morning
  • I am grateful for the love of my husband, whose warm embrace is so much like yours Father
  • I am grateful for the blessing of good food, and a quiet place to live in. How can I take these things for granted?
  • I am grateful for advocating for me and miraculously providing funding for further study in the fall. I totally did not expect it! Thank you.
  • I am grateful for the creative heart I was given to see people, things, and situations differently.
  • I am grateful for Esther Koepnick's beautiful album "Unquenchable Hope" that gave me courage to just be myself, even in my sorrow in the last couple of weeks. Grateful!
  • I am grateful for the Love that believes in me, even though I have nothing to give in return.
