Finished Work: Restoration

If you read my previous #WIP (Work In Progress) article Re-Discovery, you know a little bit about this particular piece.

Restoration marks a season of change and payback. Often, I find the paintings I do have a certain prophetic or foretelling quality to them. While they symbolize things that I am working through or experiencing at the time, they also paint a picture of things to be.

When I started re-working on this piece, I was feeling like a weary traveller just emerging from a parched and difficult land. But now, almost a month and a half later, I feel as if I am the butterfly whose wings have just begun to unfurl, whose light has increased from an ember to a little flame.

But there is so much more to this journey, as this finished work of Restoration attests.

I also think these prophetic paintings are really promises of goodness sung over me. Such things are hope to a weary soul.

I'm curious to know what your story of restoration is like. Does it look like something, feel like something? What is the colour of your story of hope? Write or comment and let me know!
